Day 2:
Flight to Arba Minch & Visit to Dorze TribesMorning: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Arba Minch, the largest town in Southern Ethiopia. Arba Minch is nestled in the foothills of the Rift Valley, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the lakes of Chamo and Abaya.
Afternoon: Visit the Dorze people at Chencha. The Dorze are famous for their intricate cotton weaving and their unique beehive-shaped dwellings. These tall, cone-shaped huts are some of the most distinctive traditional structures in Africa. Learn about the region's subsistence farming and the weaving of shama cloth, which is considered some of the finest in Ethiopia.

Midday: Travel to Jinka (260km, approx. 4.5 hours), stopping at the South Omo Research Center to learn about the local tribes of the Lower Omo Valley.
Afternoon: Visit the Ari tribe in Yetnebersh village, where you'll experience the traditional production of local liquor from sorghum, garlic, and maize. If it's a Thursday, explore the lively Key Afer market, where various tribes gather.

Day 4:
Jinka to Mago National Park, Mursi Tribe, & Turmi ExplorationMorning: After breakfast, drive to Mago National Park, where you can spot wildlife such as Bushbuck, Dik Dik, Baboons, and Colobus Monkeys. Continue to the Mursi tribe, known for body scarification and the iconic lip plates worn by women. The Mursi people primarily live near the Omo River and in Mago National Park, moving seasonally for grazing and agriculture.
Midday: Return to Jinka for lunch, then visit the South Omo Museum and the Research Center to learn more about the region's tribes. If time allows, explore the Ari villages, known for their fertile lands, coffee plantations, and skilled pottery-making.
Afternoon: After lunch, drive to Turmi via Key Afer and Dimeka (127km). Stop at Key Afer market (open on Thursdays), one of the most vibrant markets in the South Omo, where the Hamar, Benna, Tsemai, and Ari tribes gather.
Evening: Arrive in Turmi and check in to Buska Lodge.

Excursion to Omorate & MuruleMorning: After breakfast, drive to Omorate (70km), where you'll cross the Omo River by canoe to visit the Dasenech villages (Galeb tribe). Gain insight into the unique lifestyle of the Dasenech people, who live along the Omo River.
Afternoon: Continue the drive to Muruelle (67km), home to the Karo people. Visit the Duss and Korcho villages, renowned for their elaborate body painting. The Karo people decorate their bodies with striking designs, often using the feathers of guinea fowl and intricate clay hair buns that can take several days to create. Karo women also practice chest scarification, a beauty ritual that involves cutting and rubbing ash to form raised scars.
Late Afternoon: Conclude the day with a visit to a Hamer village. Known for their pride in appearance, the Hamer people decorate themselves with beads, bracelets, and oil their bodies. Both men and women carefully shave and color their hair, a testament to their cultural pride.
