DAY 1.
Departure For EthiopiaBoard your flight from your home country, embarking on a memorable journey to Ethiopia.
DAY 2.
Arrival in Addis Abeba / City Tour / Flight to Semera/ Flight: ET164 15:15 / 16:35Arrive at Addis Abeba’s Bole International Airport at 05:55. Upon arrival, meet and greet by representatives of Authentic Ethiopia Tours, followed by a warm welcome with traditional Ethiopian coffee.
Begin a soft city tour visiting significant sites such as Meskal Square and the National Museum, where you’ll see the 3.2 million-year-old fossil of Lucy. Then, head to Entoto Hill, where you can explore the palace of Menelik II and the Memorial Museum, offering panoramic views of Addis Abeba (weather permitting).
After a lunch break, transfer to Semera via flight.

DAY 3.
Semera to ErtaleDepart for Ertale via Afdera, a unique region featuring the salty, saline Lake Afdera, located 103 meters below sea level. The lake is one of the lowest-lying bodies of water globally and is a key source of salt production in Ethiopia.
Continue your journey to Ertale, an active 613-meter-high volcano with the world’s oldest permanent lava lake. The lava lake is an awe-inspiring sight, with red molten rock spouting upwards in dramatic fountains, accompanied by gas plumes.
Ascend to the top of the volcano in the afternoon to avoid the midday heat, and enjoy a mesmerizing sunset.

Exploring Ertale (Second Night at the Volcano)The Danakil Depression, where Ertale is situated, is one of the hottest inhabited places on Earth, with temperatures regularly surpassing 40°C. Spend the day exploring the area, which includes salt flats, colorful geothermal features, and other volcanic landscapes.
Experience the volcano’s beauty during the daytime, followed by a second night atop the volcano to capture more photos and enjoy the remarkable views.

DAY 5.
Travel to DallolDescend from Ertale and embark on a drive towards Dallol, passing through stunning desert landscapes. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route.
Overnight: Camping at Saaba River or a nearby village.
DAY 6.
DallolDallol is one of the most colorful and unique landscapes on Earth, set within a shallow explosion crater. The area features multicolored geysers, steaming sulfuric pools, and vibrant crystalline formations.
In the morning and late afternoon, you can experience Dallol’s surreal beauty in cooler temperatures.
Visit Lake As Ale, an important salt source, where Afar miners still harvest salt in traditional methods, often using camels for transportation.

DAY 7.
Dallol (Additional Exploration)Rise early to capture the beauty of Dallol during sunrise, when the colors of the landscape are most striking. Observe the salt miners at Lake As Ale and witness the longest camel caravans carrying salt across the desert.

Return to SemeraDrive back to Semera via Afdera, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. Arrive in Semera by late afternoon and check into your hotel.

DAY 9.
Allalobad Geysers & DepartureEarly morning departure to Allalobad, where you’ll explore geothermal features, including hot water pools with distinctive colors and towering geysers. The most notable geyser is the Allalobad Sprout, which can reach up to 30 meters in height.
In the afternoon, return to Addis Abeba on flight ET165 (arriving 17:05/18:25). Enjoy a final dinner at one of the city’s best restaurants, reflecting on your incredible journey through Ethiopia.
